In
1998 I spent four months working at the Beijing Art Academy in China on
a scholarship from the Australian Asialink Foundation. These geometric images
are borrowed from lattice windows in a traditional Chinese courtyard garden
where they draw subtle connections to unifying patterns of light and shade.
Light is drawn visually as patterns of circulation and one becomes aware
of seeing into things in an inclusive manner.
